The Workforce Investment Board (WIB) of Rapides Parish
brings together the business and education communities,
local government, and residents of Rapides Parish to:
Identify emerging local and regional workforce issues
and create practical solutions
Keep its fingers on the pulse of changes in local
occupations
Set policy for Workforce Investment Act services
provided through Career Centers
Provide resources to implement new employment services
envisioned in the federal Workforce Investment Act
(training and deploying high-tech workers, retraining
employees who have been laid off, and ensuring they have
the needed skills as they enter the labor market).
